Our History

Establishing a new girl’s school in the diocese was sanctioned by the late Bishop Lobo who was a great educationist. Late Gp. Capt. Retd Cecil Chaudhry took the responsibility as the rector of the school and St. Mary’s Academy for Girls was established on 20th April 2009. Mrs. Ubeela Kamal was appointed as the founder Principal of the school.

The school was started with the accommodating classes from class playgroup to class five. The founding Principal Mrs. Ubeela Kamal whose dream was to eventually provide a comprehensive educational system from Playgroup to Matriculation and O’Levels. The school started with 755 students and now it has reached up to 1117 students, offering classes from Playgroup to Matriculation and O’Levels.

Our mission

 is to develop young girls with active and creative minds, a sense of understanding, responsibility and compassion for others and the courage to act on their beliefs. We stress the total development of each child spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional and physical. We strive for academic excellence that empowers students to reach their full potential.

Management

The school in now under the Leadership of Mrs. Nabila Aamir and under the Management of Diocesan Board of Education of the Catholic Diocese of Islamabad-Rawalpindi. 

This Board conducts a number of schools and other Educational Institution in the Northern Punjab and K.P based on a vision of working cooperatively in supporting and encouraging education initiatives in Pakistan which help young people know and realize their own power to develop and transform themselves and society in a progressive realization of the kingdom of God Focus on education for life, the development of the whole person, the integration of faith and culture in the changing world, acceptance of a social responsibility.
The encouragement of critical thinking, the nurturing of the intellectual capacity to commit oneself to carry our responsible and meaningful tasks Inculcate Values such as self-respect, personal worth, open mindedness. tolerance, honesty, social responsibility and justice reach out to all especially the marginalize promote trust and co-operation between educators and community they serve.
